The LED-sending card is a key part of how an LED screen works; it converts the input video signal (HDMI or DVI) to a format the screen can interpret. In most cases, the outputs from these cards are the LED screen. LED sending cards incorporate light-emitting diodes to create dynamic visual effects. Sending cards convert the digital video data into millions of small parts to be interpreted by the Receiving Cards installed on the LED screen. Sending cards has always been necessary for synchronous LED screens since they are made of LEDs or individual pixels, and electronics and a specific communication system are needed to receive the data and perform their function.
Sending cards are usually classified according to the resolution capacity they can process. Cards can obtain maximum output resolutions of 1024 x 768 and higher, and we can have cards with capacities of up to 4K or more.
It is necessary to adapt the resolution of our LED video wall to the capacity of each sending card. In addition to the resolution capability, sending cards can offer different functions, such as:
Ambient sensor that can measure the room temperature and send it to the card to be displayed on the LED screen. The LED wall’s software configures this option, and you can customize the time you want to display the environmental temperature captured by the sensor. The temperature sensor must be installed where auxiliary temperatures do not interfere (shaded areas, near heat sources, etc.).
Brightness Sensor: These sensors are connected to the sending card and allow the brightness of the dvLED to be controlled according to the room lighting conditions.
Sometimes, instead of using temperature sensors, environmental data offered from specialized web pages must be collected, captured, and displayed on the LED screen.
Error detection on the LED screen: the more advanced and expensive models on the market allow you to conduct a detailed analysis of the LED board's electronic performance.
This allows you to have complete control over the adequate operation of the digital display board. Due to the high price of these systems, they are only recommended for companies with large fleets of advertising screens spread over vast geographical areas.
